Question / Help Game not in game capture

Hello all. I'm having trouble streaming the game called Heroes of Might and Magic IV: Complete. In Studio I can select the game in game capture, but it doesn't show up OBS at all and can only hear the sound. And in Classic, I can't choose the game in the game capture list at all. What do I do to fix this? I haven't tried much, mostly because I am an OBS noob still

Black screen in the preview window ?

This may not work for you, but it fixed it 100% (For me) by turning off AA (Antialiasing). Perhaps try that. Sorry I cannot guarantee it will fix it for you but worth a try.

I dunno where to find the option to turn off AA

In my AMD (Radeon) settings, you can set up a 'Profile' for the game you are using, to force the game to turn off AA (Antialiasing), its more a brute force option from the Radeon drivers to override the Game settings, or......

In the game, go to graphics settings > Antialiasing > Off. Most games will have an AA option. In my case, Path of Exile has 'Off', '4x', '8x'. I even looked in 'Victor Vran', and DIablo 3, they too have an AA option.

Just bear in mind, don't specifically look for 'AA', Look for 'Antialiasing'.

[edit] anyway, I have just verified with Diablo 3, AA has to be off for the game to show in OBS, so the problem (For me) is not localized to one game, it does it with Diablo 3, and Path of Exile.

So either its a Directx problem, Drivers (is it happening to Nvidia users too ?) or its OBS.

The game doesn't have the option to turn AA off. But I figured it out. I made the stream resolution the same as the in game resoloution (1024x768) and did a Monitor capture. Works perfectly

Update to OBS Studio and be sure to run as admin, see if it's listed there. If not, it may not captureable with game capture due to its age.

Yeah I missed that :)

IF the game is old enough to not support AA, or OBS Game Capture, then you will need to change the capture type, to Window or Display, but yeah as Sapiens said, Update to Studio, and run as Admin.
