Question / Help Game muted in stream [appears solved unless I'm mistaken]

heys, i was trying to set up a stream for myself lately, playing mostly team fortress 2, using obs ofc, but had to encounter some issues, on both image and sound, i managed to fix the image quality issues or at least make it somewhat less of an issue as it still looks like aids, but cant afford going higher because of shitty upload rates hehe
but my main problem right now is that the game sound is not being captured, obs has no problems streaming music, ts3, mumble, myself, even other games seem to work fine, but tf2 wouldnt
id rather have a stream with more of sound than just music and me talking, so if any1 had the same problem and found a solution plz let me know ^^

btw im using a virtual 7.1 setup, ive read somewhere that that might cause this issue, cant find where ive read it again though, and turning it off and reconfiguring the settings didnt seem to change anything

It might be the setup, I don't know, but it would probably be good to post a log file or something (although not entirely sure how much it'll help).

If you're using both speakers and headset you'll have that to deal with as well

so not a known problem yet?
ive been asking around some fellow streamers of which noone even knew of this problem, let alone knew a solution :/

EDIT: okay im stupid, just turned off the 7.1 option in game and THEN restarted obs, should have tried it earlier :D working now

If you've got sound splitting then it may cause an issue. There are ways to bypass it which requires some setting changes and I'm not sure if it would conflict with anything else. However, this is only if you've got sound splitting through virtual devices or through multiple devices.
