Question / Help Game is stuttering while recording.

Hello all, so i have been using OBS studio for awhile but when i record with it, it seems to stutter, unlike shadowplay. The only reason i use OBS is because it has smaller files, but the issue is when i use it and go through and edit it it seems to make the lag worse. I dont quiet know what's wrong or what im doing wrong.

16GB Ram

Can you try being patient? You are not paying to be here, and nobody is paid to be here. We are community volunteers helping in our spare time when we can. Waiting less than an hour before whining about how nobody responded to you is a GREAT way for most community helpers to ignore you. Entitlement is severely looked down on here.

As for your issue, you're overloading your GPU and it can't keep up with the encoding:

Make sure you are capping FPS in your game, as a 1050 will be very quickly maxed out and start causing issues with OBS.

Before you say anything about Shadowplay, it has direct access to the GPU where as OBS needs to go through the NVENC API, so it's not a fair test.

Well i have been patient, posted threads for two months and nothing so my patience is weary so its rather annoying. And so i have to lock my frames at 60?

Try the recording presets in simple output mode rather than trying to use advanced.

Under Settings > Output when in Simple output mode. In the recording section, change the Recording Quality to Indistinguishable Quality, and then select Hardware (NVENC) as your encoder.

Try using a tool like GPUz to monitor your GPU load both before and after you open OBS. If the GPU is hitting near 100% before OBS is open, you will need to turn settings down in the game further to ease the load. OBS requires a small amount of GPU to composite your scene (something that Shadowplay doesn't do).

I think im just not gonna bother with it, ill use it for streaming cuz its amazing on stream, just recording isnt really good
