Hey guys,

after my other problem has been solved the next one appears.
When I start my stream my game freezes every ~3-5 seconds for the ~3-5 seconds.

I was on the Community Chat and someone said i should lower my downscale to 1.75 or 2.0.
The thing is I really wont stream under 720p for my viewers it just dont look that amazing.

Here is my latest log: https://gist.github.com/f9e7c7abea2d0188b7eb

Hope you guys know an answer :)

Best regards,

So, is your game freezing or is it the stream itself that's freezing?

Also, are the viewers encountering the freeze, or is it just something you see on the preview of the stream (on Twitch)?

My game freezes, not the stream i see it when i am playing

//edit: my viewers see the freeze to but the audio is completly fine. so its the game itself

Alright, well have you tried the downscaling? Because even though you don't want to stream like that, it's a great way of troubleshooting. It might just be that the settings are too high and that your processor is having a hard time keeping up. If it was WoW you were playing then that's pretty CPU intensive, as most open-world games are.

No expert though!

not yet. On Windows 7 i was able to stream at 720p without any problems even WoW.
My Processor is overclocked to 4.3GHz and like i said on win7 it was all fine.

//edit on win7 i even was able to stream 720p 60FPS.
and even 1080p on 30FPS at some games

Is there a reason you're using monitor capture?

Actually not i tried it with and without Monitor Capture both same problem.
Im Using Monitor Capture sometimes to show my Screen but often it is disabled.

i've seen this issues quite frequently on this forum ever since the w10 release. imho its a problem between obs and w10 since i do have comparable problems with little game freezes etc. since i switched to w10 and try to stream (no matter what capturemethod) also never had a problem on w7 nor w8.1

Maybe it's a Windows 10 problem like someone else suggested. You also seem to be using 32bit OBS in your log. Is this a mistake or do you have to use 32bit for some reason? If you dont, definitely use 64bit if you're on a 64bit OS.

Also, downscaling is a bad idea performance wise. You should play your game in 720p and record directly in that, or have your scene in 720p and resize the source (although that won't be much better than regular scaling).

Try to avoid having too many things open aswell, only have your game, OBS, and maybe chatty for your chat open. Particularily google chrome seems to screw with OBS sometimes.

Finally, you can try messing with CPU priorities. It's how I've managed to keep my games from lagging while streaming + recording. I set my game to CPU priority high, and OBS to above normal (although you can leave it at normal). Don't EVER set your game to realtime priority though... bad things will happen.

well i just pushed the download button on the site it gave me the 32bit client ive read somewhere that the 32bit is recommended even on a 64bit system but i will try the 64bit tomorrow. I only have my stream up(for chat/dashboard) and an follower alert so i can see who follows me but nothing more. Ive only put in my gamesource, window capture for followers and my cam.

I will try it with 64bit tomorrow and will try put in the gamesource to 720p wothout downscaling but i think that shouldnt be the matter when im playing with over 100FPS ingame ^^

Thanks anyways and i will tell you the results tomorrow :)

Yea, OBS still defaults to 32bit. The reason is that some capture cards don't work with 64bit, but unless you're using such a capture card 64bit is (nearly) always better. You don't need a new install for it either, the OBS installer should install both versions. My 64bit version is under "C:\Program Files\OBS\OBS.exe".
