game freeze only while obs is running

My Game is freezing and continues working while gaming
I have to tab out and in to"unfreeze" the picture(OF THE GAME ONLY AND GAME IS STILL RUNNING PROPERLY DURING THIS FREEZE)


I don't play other games to test this with

WIN 11
2080ti
i9 9900
24gb ram 1tb ssd space

***UPDATE*****

no capture needed just OBS running in the background not recording or streaming

still happens
 
Started playing halo infinite.. 1 hour in no problem.. i launched obs and instant freeze of game screen

have to tab out and in to unfreeze game screen
game still working in the background.. alll i did was open obs

help please
 
Ayo noge, only for me this recently started happening, I have a 2060 rtx 17 with 16gb ram and 1tb ssd space here. I think right now it's a problem with Nvidia drivers currently interfering with obs (theory). Because I just recently updated my drivers like a week ago and I cannot record my games without dropping down to sub 30 fps anymore. So until someone finds the reason why it's like this just wait for the next driver update. P.S None of my settings have changed in the past 3 months, only happened after I got the most recent update of drivers and I don't even have to be recording for it to eat away at my frames.
Hoping this provides knowledge for both our issues
 
I tried StreamLabs OBS and that as well started the same problem. I was not streaming nor using game capture just open in the background.
again picture froze game kept playing.. tabbed out and into the game to unfreeze screen.


i have reverted back to Nvidia driver 471.41

I am 20 minutes into my gaming session. Will see if I get the same results.
 
Since my last post.

Only does it when tabbed into a Game.. when tabbed out it will run just fine in background
 
I've had this problem as well. Including a game would lose all its frames. And drop badly, my friends in Teamspeak will all go robotic voices. And then it struggles to close down OBS. And when it does close down. Everything runs like it should. Even happened with Streamslab as well. And the one thing we have in common WINDOWS 11

revert to windows 10 in my opinion

I have not had any problems..
I may wait 1 year to upgrade

Yeah I'm regretting. Worse bit is I'm pass my 10 day period to revert and all that. So just gonna have to put up with it and hope that either developers or Microsoft update or do something. Annoying but heyho. Gotta love updates lol

mine did as well i just did the reinstall I downloaded windows onto a usb(bootable usb) and just installed it.. no need to worry about your key it's linked to your ms account and you can go back to 11 later
 
I have been checking this forum for months since my last post.. I am still Unable to use OBS and play the game.


Is this forum for support worthless?
