Question / Help Game Crashes when Capturing with OBS: Arma 2 OA

I'm completely new to OBS and am trying to capture some DayZ Overpoch (Arma II: OA mod) to a local file. I'm using Game Capture mode and have to enable "Anti-cheat compatibility hooking" or I end up with a black screen.

Anyway, I experience regular ArmA2OA crashes when capturing with OBS with the following error:

Application popup: ArmA 2 OA: ArmA2OA.exe - Application Error : The instruction at 0x00000000 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be written.

Click on OK to terminate the program

These crashes occur regularly when capturing Arma2OA single player missions and when playing the Overpoch mod. They usually (maybe exclusively) occur when closing the in-game map or (in a single player mission) after dying and hitting the restart mission button. Crashes don't occur every time I close the map or hit restart, but I think that when crashes do occur, that's when it happens.

These crashes occurred when I was running Win 7 and still occur on my new Win 8.1 install. I'm using Quick Syc at 5000 kb/s with default audio settings. File output mode is saving a .flv file to a solid state drive. My base resolution is 1920x1080 (which is my monitor and game resolution) which I downscale to 1280x720 using Lanczos at 30FPS. All advanced settings are default and I am not using any custom Quick Sync parameters.

Is anyone else successfully capturing A2OA? How do your settings differ from mine? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might try to eliminate these game crashes?

I believe that the anti-cheat for ArmA2 was updated recently and now causes issues with Game Capture, even with the anti-cheat compatibility enabled.

In the meantime you will unfortunately have to resort to playing in windowed mode and using Window Capture (make sure Aero is enabled)

I'll give windowed mode a try. I would have tried this sooner but I'm unable to figure out how to get Arma II to play in an actual 1920x1080 window. Even if I autohide the taskbar, Arma II just won't do 1920x1080. I've seen tutorials where others have successfully done this but when I follow them step by step I still end up with some odd resolution -- slightly smaller than 1920x1080. I've tried a variety of methods, including the use of 3rd party 'borderless windowed mode' utilities, but it's just not working. Playing in a window slightly smaller than 1920x1080 may be my only option if I want to capture though.

Thanks for the suggestion.
