Question / Help Game Capture showing black

so after installing the newest version, when I'm able to do a Game Capture and it actually recognizes the game, some games like Ark, only show a blank screen. Not the game. I prefer doing game Capture so I'm not showing off my desktop since I don't have a stream PC fully operational yet. What makes the screen black and how can I fix that?

Here is the current log. I have other games that I wanted to add, but so far these games are giving me issues: Conan Exile, Star Citizen, ARK, GTA V, Skyrim Special Edition and Elite Dangerous. Now all these games are running 1080P resolution but just can't hook them.

I have an issue with this too. It's very annoying. Just got a new PC and am trying to record the new Nier. I wish I could just download OBS Classic and be done with OBS Studio.

Classic actually fixed the problem. It is simple to understand and navigate and customize.
Just got a new PC so I'm literally the only user/admin. When I would start OBS (even as admin) and I tried to capture the screen with Game Capture, sometimes it shows a black screen, sometimes it actually shows the game.

I went to the root exe and set the compatibility setting to run as admin and it worked. It's now picking up all the games that wouldn't display in the preview. Thanks Harold.

alright, so its 2020, and I just ran into this issue, I cant get game capture to pick up skyrim SE, I have tried running world of Warcraft, worked fine, tried it on ESO, worked fine with that too. hell even worked fine with GTA V. but cant get it to pick up Skyrim SE and a few others. plz help. thank you.

Did you figure something out? Ditto with Skyrim SE being the odd one out

Can you please provide info what exactly did you do? I have the same problem (like hundreds of people as I can see) with my 2080 super. I tried everything, and nothing helped. Actually I didn't try your way, I would like to try, but don't know how.
