Question / Help Game capture option for FH3?

Hi,

So I started to stream and play the new game Forza Horizon 3 on PC.
And can´t seem to capture it with game capture or window capture.

And capturing with monitor capture takes alot from the gpu. And makes my obs crash after awhile, since my graphic card crashes.

Got all the new updates/drivers etc.

Will we be able to use game capture for this soon?
Or is their some other fix for this?

Kind regards,

IT's a weird thing with all of the Windows 10 Store games it seems. The only work around that I have come up with is to do a display capture for the monitor that you are playing on.

The problem that I'm running into now is that OBS seems to randomly glitch out and starts and stops showing the display while recording. It almost looks like a video driver crash, but everything keeps running. It only seems to happen when recording.and only with this game.

I wish MS would stop trying to push their stupid Windows store and the lame Xbox recording program and just let us use whatever we wanted like every other game company out there.

I use the monitor capture option to capture Forza horizon 3 to. But I´m getting this error after a while and the obs program crashes.

Texture-> Map failed: 0x887a0005 0x887a0006

Your video card or driver froze and was reset. Please check for possible hardware / driver issues. This error can occur if you have enabled opencl in x264 custom settings.

But the game don´t crash only OBS.

Have they stopped working on OBS or what´s going on?
Why isn´t things like this getting solved?

I don't think that it is a matter of them stopping work on OBS, it is more of a matter of Microsoft actively working to force you to use their programs instead of the ones that you want to. They keep doing random things to sabotage the quality of Steam on Windows systems as well. They want to monopolize the market, but they suck at it.

Also it might be the fact that OBS does not support DX12 yet which is what horizon is running on...

Double whammy actually
Windows store app plus directx12. Neither of which are supported by game capture yet.

Check out this video here it should sort you out. The problem is that Microsoft would like you to use Game DVR instead of OBS etc

This solution works for recording, even though my FPS seems to freak out sometimes (in the video, not the game itself).

BUT it still doesnt work for streaming. When i stream it works for a few seconds and then i get greeted by the message provided in the picture.

Then the stream goes black ,my audio still works. a few seconds later OBS crashes and its goodbye. Now the message implies my video card driver crashed, funnily enough the game itself still runs beautifully.

I also noticed that while playing forza and watching youtube videos on the second screen, as soon as i switch into forza the youtube screen goes completely black, as in the video card driver crashes. but ONLY until i tab out of forza. then youtube pops back up again and all is fine and dandy.

i have never experienced anything as weird as this tbh. Microsoft and turn10 seriously fucked this one up big time
