Bug Report Game capture mode won't recognize broodwar

Recently downloaded OBS as an alternative to FRAPS which generated 20 GB files.
I am trying to record broodwar replays, but when i add game capture as a source and try to select an application, brood war is not even on the list. the only available applications are my chrome browser and windows explorer... i am not sure what is wrong. I open brood war first before opening OBS and hit the refresh button but it still won't recognize.

Game Capture unfortunately doesn't support Brood War, but R1CH wrote an experimental plugin to support Brood War. YOu might want to try it out, though I'm not sure if it still works: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2068

You should try it out and post in the thread if it works, or if it doesn't.

Otherwise, if you can play the game in Windowed mode, you can capture it using Window Capture.

I'm not sure if DxTory can capture it...you can look into using DxTory to capture it too, potentially.

unfortunately the experimental plugin for Brood War doesn't work. I was looking for a free alternative to fraps (which i actually torrented) so OBS seemed to be the best choice. However the plugin simply creates a black screen. I checked out DxTory, the only problem is that it costs money... so i'm not quite sure if there are any other alternatives out there
