Hey guys hope you are all awesome, basically I am trying to get my stream looking the best possible and wondered who else had an fx8350 and what their OBS settings were. I have heard that some people can do 1080@ 60 with no stutter, is this even possible with this cpu. Just need help guys please please.

depending on the game it is possible but it is not really recommended due to the high bitrate needed to achieve a decent quality if you want an 60fps stream go ahead and use 720p60 if you want 1080p stream with 30fps

It's more of a question of people who use an fx8350 and what settings they use. I have a throughput upload of 11.25 so if needed could use the bitrate but would prefer not to so more people can view. I just want it running the best possible so wondered what setting everyone else was using. Thanks for your response alpinlol.

well dont worry the bitrate you would need to have a decent looking 1080p60 stream (its still not really good) would probably be around ~7500 and twitch will probably bann you for those kind of bitrates since this is already excessive usually its recommended to not use more than 3500 best case would be around 2000-2500 720p30 for an unpartnered streamer this makes sure that buffering issues arent as frequent the quality still looks somewhat okay and your viewers dont need an really good pc to watch it since flash player really hits your cpu (on the viewer side) as a test you can stream 1080p60 and try to watch it on some dualcore notebooks the notebook will probably be at around 80-100% cpu usage at all times by just watching a stream

I have an fx-8320 overclocked to 4.5ghz... the 8350 is a 4.0ghz 8core so it should be similar.

Realistically i dont like going over 1500kbps so that i can reach more viewers without issues... but ive tested the cpu usage of obs only with 540p 3000kbps at various fps...

these are all x264 presets using the lanczos filter

Ultrafast :: 37%@24fps :: 39%@30fps :: 40%@48fps :: 41%@60fps
superfast :: 40%@24fps :: 43%@30fps :: 43%@48fps :: 46%@60fps
veryfast :: 42%@24fps :: 43%@30fps :: 49%@48fps :: 51%@60fps
faster :: 47%@24fps :: 49%@30fps :: 56%@48fps :: 61%@60fps
fast :: 50%@24fps :: 54%@30fps :: 63%@48fps :: 69%@60fps
medium :: 54%@24fps :: 61%@30fps :: 68%@48fps :: 75%@60fps
slow :: 73%@24fps :: 83%@30fps :: ** 88%@48fps :: 83%@60fps
slowest :: 96%@24fps :: 94%@30fps :: 88%@48fps :: 89%@60fps **

so starting at the **, obs started to lag encoding really bad so not sure if those readings will be exact peak.

so technically reliability wise... i would shoot for fast at 30fps while playing pc games... if you are capturing another pc or a console you technically should be able to do medium 30fps for the BEST quality out of the encoding of you cpu
