Question / Help FX8350 and CPU preset

So I did a lot of tests today and I realized that when I choose FAST preset I get really smooth picture in high motion games as its Counter Strike Global Offensive with 2200 bitrate (720p) but I'm getting some sort of lag in terms of mouse control. It's completely smooth with 200+ fps but It's like that I have some sort of lag.

If I choose faster or fast lag is gone but also I can see decrease in quality with same settings.

Does that means that FX8350 cant handle fast preset or I can somehow decrease something else and make that quality possible ?

OBS is probably taking too much of your CPU at Fast preset and leaving little for your game. Your CPU probably can't manage to do both OBS at Fast and CS at the same time... it is just choosing to favor OBS over CS:GO. You need to stick with Faster. That said, if you post a log file, we might be able to help more instead of speculate like I just did.

Also, why let your game run at 200fps? Restrict it down to what your monitor runs at. VSync on, for example. You're wasting CPU and GPU time (and OBS needs both) by rendering far more frames than your monitor can display.

I will add log in couple hours. I usually cap games with vsync at 60fps but this is CSGO with different engine. I cap at 150 lately and it works fine, if I lower on 100 it's kinda noticable shuttering. I dont really want to argue with that but I agree with you that games need to be capped but with this game I just cant do it. When I'm streaming PS3 games via HD PVR2 I'm doing streams on fast preset and it looks fine but I was suprised that game could lag from my point of view (its mostly like slower mouse movement) while for viewers is perfectly smooth without any fps drops or shuttering. Last night I actually streamed for 7 hours without realizing that I didnt turned stream off heh.

Dropping log really soon. Thanks for help.

depends on what monitor you got if you run a 60 hz monitor you can either cap ingame at 60 which will end it bad performance due to the source engine or you cap it at 101 .. but if you are running a 120 hz monitor you want it to be capped at 121

This is log from that particular session when I tried FAST preset.

http://pastebin.com/4nrqZGej

My monitor is Samsung S24C570HL 23.6", which is 60hz at native and I believe that I have 75hz at lower resolutions (not so experianced with monitors). I went for 60hz since it's going to be easier for me when I go to lan on better monitor or at least isnt going to be hard to adjust myself on 60hz if I played all the time on 120hz since I'm kinda competitive player in Dota2/CS Global Offensive. After all my hardware is on edge for 60fps with vsync on so I wouldnt go that far for 120hz.

EDIT: Ok I just tested Vsync since in CSGO there is a option for double and triple buffer. On triple buffer game is running on 60fps capped but I have mouse delay/lag as it's when I stream with OBS on Fast but without vsync. On the other hand with Double Buffer game is running better but I still have ingame lag, kinda noticable when I do really fast 180 angle moves. If I turn vsync off and I cap game on 60fps it's completely same thing as with Double Buffer. So capping game with Vsync doesnt really help me in CSGO so far. With Dota 2 works fine.

Btw yes I did streamed in 1024x768 since that is resolution in which I'm playing game always and there is no benefit of 1280x720 except black bars which can be used If I decide to go for webcamera or some ads. I dont mind black bars, all old CS players loves them. Other games i'm always streaming at 1280x720.
