Question / Help Future Youtuber

Hello,
I'm starting a YouTube, since it's summer and I now have more free time. Wanted to record (hopefully stream in the future too) at1080p 60fps, and I really think that I should have the appropriate hardware to do so. I have a GTX 1080 with a 6700K processor. When playing some games, like EA Battlefront, the recording we pretty smooth, but games like Rocket League were very rough at the same settings. Should I be thinking of getting a HD60PRO, or am I making a rookie mistake? In game frame rates remain unaffected, it's just the recording. Anyway, thanks for reading this.

P.S. I only have one monitor which is 60hz 1080p (IK, VERY OVERPOWERED FOR A GTX 1080, BUT I MIGHT UPGRADE IN THE FUTURE)

Also, I didn't event start setting up the audio, but I kinda just want to focus on the video for now, and think about the audio once the video quality is fixed.

Best,
The Gaming Adventures

From the log, you were running multiple instances of OBS, which is usually not a good idea. As far as recordings, use the recording quality presets under Settings > Output when in Simple output mode. In the recording section, change the Recording Quality to Indistinguishable Quality, and then select your encoder.

For streaming, try the Autoconfig Wizard from the tools menu.

Lastly, please note that running a game without vertical sync or a frame rate limiter will frequently cause performance issues with OBS because your GPU will be maxed out. Enable vsync or set a reasonable frame rate limit that your GPU can handle without hitting 100% usage. If that's not enough you may also need to turn down some of the video quality options in the game.

I gtg now, let you know if the recordings will work tomorrow. Lowering the resolution in-game didn't really seem to improve much in Rocket League. But, will try it again.

P.S. I used Jackfrag's OBS guide for the settings.

Don't use someone else's settings. That's about the worst possible thing you can do when setting up OBS.

You should test, and find what works for you. In 99% of use cases, the local recording presets are just fine.

As mentioned in my previous post, make sure you're capping FPS in the game to avoid maxing out your GPU and causing issues.

Ok, so, I reset OBS, cap out my in-game FPS at 65 (or lowered the quality of the game) and am running at the quality of this guide: https://obsproject.com/forum/resour...lity-recording-and-multiple-audio-tracks.221/

Rocket League works fine, completely smooth, although I'm having a weird experience with Titanfall 2. The recording is smooth, except I occasionally have randomly dropped frames, (in the recording, the gameplay didn't experience any problems!) for a few seconds, in the middle of the recording. It was like a random stuttering for a few seconds, then everything was back to normal. I was testing out specifically the first mission from the campaign.
Do you know what might be causing the issue?

Note: I am running a single-monitor and Titanfall 2 is full screen, so that's why there may appear some "errors"
in the beginning. But, I don't think that's the cause of the random fps drops (again, not in-game, but in the recording).
