Fullscreen Multiview missing a few critical things for educators

OBS Studio is great for educators working on at-home learning to allow for nice switching between a webcam and a document camera when recording lessons.
My wife is in that situation so I have set up OBS Studio for her to use. I have found that full screen multiview mode is especially handy on her touch screen laptop because:
  1. All the sources are shown, allowing previewing before switching, so things like the document alignment can be seen before switching to the doc camera.
  2. On a touch screen the source views are very large selection buttons, making it easy to switch sources. This is a really big benefit of full screen multiview; someone recording a lesson does not want to have to hunt for a tiny entry on a tiny scenes menu, which unfortunately is what the main screen or studio mode requires. (Yes I know hot keys can be used, but we're talking about people who are not always tech savvy. Simple and visually obvious is best.)
  3. The Program view is the whole image; on the main OBS Studio screen it is not (because the resolution is set for the full document camera resolution, which can be as large as or larger than the laptop screen resolution).
However, full screen multiview has a couple of key deficiencies. How easy would it be to address these?
  1. There is no way to start or stop recording on the multiview screen except with hot keys. I have set up the number pad + and Enter as nice big Start and Stop hot keys, but there is no visual or audible feedback that recording has started or stopped. A very visible "tally light" recording indicator in multiscreen view would be most helpful. We already had one situation where shuffling materials bumped the Enter key and undetectably stopped a recording in progress, ruining that take and wasting precious time.
  2. Even better would be large start/stop/pause buttons that would be easy to poke on a touch screen, with visual indication of recording--no hotkeys needed!
  3. There is no way to configure a hot key to launch the full screen multiview mode. This would be the one hot key I'd actually like to have for this use.
