Last week I experienced a bizarre problem while streaming the church service (2/12/2023) which I had not previously experienced. Normally advancing slides in our PowerPoint presentation changes scenes and camera positions using the PowerPoint macro “Send Hotkeys to OBS from PowerPoint” and the OBS Lua script “Control Visca-over-IP based cameras” 2.1. We have been using these scripts for about 2 yrs. without any issues. We also use the “Multiple RTMP outputs plugin”. While streaming the service, the OBS video froze the first time we advanced the PowerPoint slides to a slide which would change to a new scene. The audio continued as normal. The stream to Facebook and YouTube also had the frozen video image but audio was normal. The controls on OBS were normal and functioning. When the service was over, I changed monitor 2 to the camera output and noticed that by clicking on different scenes in OBS, the scenes and camera positions were changing normally on monitor 2 but not on monitor 1 where the OBS video screen was still frozen.(The display was not frozen)
During the week I had installed a new OBS lua script “Autostarter” and I installed a “StarTech USB 3.1 (USB-A /C) to Dual HDMI Adapter – 4K 30hz / 1080P” to my MSI Z270 motherboard. The 4K output goes directly to a Dell 4K monitor and the 1080P output goes to the Atem Mini Pro hdmi input 2. The output from the Atem Mini Pro goes to an Atlona 8 port distribution splitter. 5 outputs go to the 4 sanctuary 4K TVs, 1 to the Family room TV and 1 to monitor 2. The Canon CR-N300 was connected to the Atem Mini Pro HDMI input 1. The Atem Mini Pro was connected to the computer by USB-C port. Prior to installing “Autostarter” and the Startech HDMI adapter, the system had been working perfectly.
I deleted “Autostarter” yesterday and did a test Facebook stream with the same PowerPoint presentation and everything seemed to function correctly.
I am puzzled as to what causing the OBS video screen and video streaming to freeze but not the audio stream or the direct video image. The PowerPoint Macro and the Visca camera control were functioning correctly on the direct camera feed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
