Hey everyone ! I've had troubles with OBS ever since i began to use it to record videos locally !

Everytime I record something the video export is choppy, i dunno how to explain, the game looks like it lags but the audio seems fine, no cuttings or anything.

I hope that someone here could explain to me what i've been doing wrong ! Thanks you for your time in advance :)

Here's my log file, I just reproduced the issue

I already tried it at 30 fps and it works, but why can't I capture my games at the framerate I want? :o
I'll try the preset !

It's not so much why can't you as it's why shouldn't you.

Due to the way that refresh on displays behave, there is no benefit to using 40fps instead of 30.

Thanks for your replies, 40 fps ultrafast is nearly smooth, i might have to record at 30 fps... but if i want to do 60fps? Does it mean my 2500k is really becoming old?

it's still an i5.

60fps would work better than 40, and 40 offers no benefit over 30 or 60.

I did not understand that it could work better at 60 fps, the more you know :p This is why I was struggling that much...
Anyway, thanks for the help it works great :)

The science is complicated but it has to do with how screens render frames that are in between multiples/divisors of the refresh rate. 40fps only offers drawbacks. 60 at least gives you some benefit to the increased cpu use.
