Hey guys first of all these are the specs of my computer: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rgtk7P

Now, I've been recording various games using OBS and in some like TF2, everything has been working fine at 1080p60. However, when I record Portal 2 in 1080p60, the playback buffers every 10 seconds, however, when I put it to 720p60, it does not. I know my gpu is capable of runnning 1080p60 because it is an EVGA 970. Is there a fix?

The beginning part of the log has the problem, the middle doesn't because it's in 720p60, then the last part is in 1080p60.

Thanks.

your CPU isn't necessarily good enough to do x264 recording with 1080p @ 60fps. best recommendation is to use NVENC instead for 1080@60fps. set your bitrate to 1000 and buffer to 0, take out the custom x264 settings as well since doing what I stated here will allow your bitrate to go as high as possible for the quality of your recording.

EDIT: lastly, dont preview while you encode. this will cause studdering in game (sometimes)

With NVENC the screen looks terrible and there is little squares everywhere....
you aren't uploading complete logfiles.
After you've streamed for a bit, click help in OBS and upload the last logfile from there. copy the github link here

If for some reason NVENC doesn't like the buffer 0 trick, just set the bitrate and buffer to 50000 and uncheck CBR, set the quality balance to 7 or 8
