Question / Help Frames drop when trying to record Minecraft

I was trying to record some Minecraft and I normally get around 60 frames but when I record/preview with obs now I get 13 or so, I'm trying to record at 1080p but I went down to 720 and it didn't help at all.I am using the game capture source and have all the recommended setting that I was given when I checked the logs. I used to be able to use the software perfectly fine but one day it randomly dropped my frames. I am running Windows 10, which my friend brought up POSSIBLY for some strange reason could maybe have something to do with it (before I was using windows 7 and that worked great.) I don't know for sure if it was the Windows upgrade though because i can not entirely remember when the error started to happen.

It would really help if you had that logfile to show us...

Still nothing. I can edit and look at the scene just fine, it still has good frames. It's when I click on the Minecraft process that the frames are at like 8. Like i said previously though, it doesn't normally do this, just when OBS is either recording/previewing.

14:37:38: Base resolution: 1280x720
14:37:38: Output resolution: 1280x720

Set your base resolution to your monitors resolution then downscale to 720p. As for minecraft in itself, this might be due to the game's inefficient use of CPU and OBS's strong use of the CPU as well.

I would try a hardware encoder like VCE from AMD https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-branch-with-amd-vce-support.13996/ the link above is a forked version of OBS or you can use OBS Studios https://obsproject.com/download#mp instead. both will give you access to AMD's VCE encoder.

Next I would check windows audio recording and playback devices near the clock to ensure that your audio format is the same as what OBS is set to. OBS currently uses 48000Hz (48KHz) for you. this can be found in the advanced tab of your mic and headset within windows.

Alright, I went ahead and downloaded OBS Studios and for right now, it seems to work perfectly. Thanks for the suggestion :-]
