Dear OBS Community,

Backstory:
I've only just begun using OBS from previously streaming for about 1 year in xsplit, I stream mostly Dota, some GW2 and I love streaming single player games. Be sure to catch my Dark souls 2 stream in March 2014 :)

Specs:
AMD FX-8120 3,6 ghz, 8 GB RAM 1600mhz, Radeon HD 7970 3GB RAM
All this is supported by a 100/100 fiber connection.

The problem:
The first 25-30 seconds of the stream is flawless. Then the stream starts dropping a couple of frames for 10-15 seconds.. then it goes back to flawless streaming, and this is continued throughout the stream...

Other thoughts:
My OBS settings are almost identical to my xsplit settings. But in xsplit I can ramp up the x264 codec to the "faster" setting instead of veryfast, and I can do 1920x1080@30.

I'm streaming to the Stockholm Twitch.tv server (which is approx. 600 km from my location), can't seem to solve it streaming to the NL Server either.

http://sv.twitch.tv/numrii/b/465684752 here's an example of how it looks. That's the other half of my stream, I was disconnected halfway through. I think this was shot with 2100kbps bitrate, I've tried alot of settings between to 1500 - 3300kbps

Attached is a log of the last stream. Loganalyzer says my connection is unstable but I more likely messed up a setting somewhere.

Any ideas?

23:42:55: RTMPPublisher::SendLoop: Stalled for 2385 ms to write 281845 bytes (buffer: 0 / 284672), unstable connection?

Sounds like your internet (uplink) is experiencing problems.

Hey man, Yea that's what I was looking at aswell, but I'm getting consistent 60mbps during peak hours and 90 mbps during off hours (to domestic services) :/ and Xsplit doesn't drop a frame with nearly identical settings.

It's on Twitch end. Not ours.
I have the problem as well and others does as well.

I reported this problem a few weeks back when this started to happen and Twitch with nicer words basically called me retarded and It's my nets/my own fault and not theirs.
After a few complaints from me they looked into it and what happened? Oh, they came to OBS forum to explain what was going on.

Btw, I got no apology.

Edit: I saw someone with the same problem. He tried running on Frankfurt and that seemed to work for him right now at least. You may give that a try.

I didn't think it was on OBS end either, I was certain there was some setting I had overlooked.. But I had a streaming session today, 2½ hours, 52 frames dropped, that's <.1% and that's absolutely acceptable :)

After about 3 hours it started to drop frames like crazy and I had to reconnect a couple of times, there is no doubt in my mind that the error is on twitches end, Stockholm server might be affected by the big fire last week that apparently took out alot of cables. NL server was no better though, I'll try frankfurt later. Thanks for your input!

Update: Frankfurt server is working TERRIFIC!! :)
