Question / Help Frame lag on OBS, not in game

Helping out a friend of mine with a problem (he just got OBS and wanted me to post for him since I know more). Here's what he told me:

"I tried streaming today, and the fps of the stream just hit rock bottom whenever I opened up a game, even though the ingame fps I was actually seeing was great."

Here's his log. I couldn't find anything drastically wrong, but I'm no expert: https://gist.github.com/dbebb5d7a25f8343613e

Here's the VOD. As you can see as soon as he opens up the game at the 1 minute mark the frames on the capture drop drastically: http://www.twitch.tv/betafur/v/8784287

I would say he just doesn't have enough CPU power for a screen capture, except for the fact that he runs a youtube channel which he records games with fraps and such for all the time. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The log you've provided is for OBS-MP, this forum is for OBS Classic. Go up a couple levels, and over to the MP support area. :)

Moved to the correct forum. That system is incredibly underpowered for streaming, it has a single core CPU. 720p at 48 FPS is not an option, your friend is probably looking more at the 360p at 20-30 FPS range of things if that will even work.
