Hello guys, i just want to say before i start to ramble, OBS is amazing and i have no intention of using any other streaming program. OBS is a fantastic service considering it's a free product.

Anyway, i'm starting to experience a problem not only annoying for me but also for my live stream viewers. Usually when i stream in the morning i can get a solid 4-5 hours out of OBS but any time after 3pm i start to experience OBS frame dropping. Now before i got my fiber installed i used to stream with OBS so i'm fully aware of frame drops but this time it's different, i have fiber and my OBS is set up perfectly for my PC and for my Internet

Internet Speed taken at peak time during the OBS frame drops:

I honestly can't get my head around it, me and my viewers have tried pretty much everything that i have read in other posts, its completely fine in the mornings and mid afternoon but on a night time it's unwatchable.

Yes i'm using windows 8 but i'm only having this problem with the newer OBS update

Here are the logs from my 11am-3pm stream with 0% Frame Drop:

Here are the evening stream logs:

Hopefully i could get a few answers because i honestly love OBS but i can't use it because my viewers get pi**ed.

There is no reason why OBS would suddenly start dropping frames depending only on the time of day. Either it drops frames or it does not. It does not contain a shred of code that would cause it to start dropping frames at <insert time of day here>.

Consequently, the solution to your problem is found elsewhere.

Either, something at home is interfering with a stable connection at those hours or your ISP is experiencing issues at those hours or... the most likely scenario, Twitch is experiencing issues at those hours. So, to test the stability of your connection throughout the day, just run a speedtest during the morning, during the afternoon, during the evening and during the night. Just to see whether or not it actually is stable throughout the day. If it is, we can strike off an issue at your home and at your ISP.

Which would only leave Twitch, basically. Which is no surprise, as the number of people that have issues even watching Twitch keeps increasing at an alarming rate. And there is not a single thing us individuals can do about it other than making it known to Twitch that issues exists.

Yes i completely agree, at the moment Twitch seems to have a lot of issues concerning connections. I got my fiber installed on 21st August and after having such a poor internet speed i have been running a lot of speed test's over the last week or so, all of the test's have been done at different times of the day and my upload has come back around the same every time. But in saying that i didn't experience this issue before i updated my OBS to 0.553 and 0.554. I just wan't to make sure it's not my OBS so i can cross it off the list of potential problems.

Call it coincidence. Heck, man... I'm on a 150 Mbps symmetrical line, easily capable of actually being faster than that in real world scenarios, over extended periods of time. But, well... after, say, 18:00 local time (GMT +1) I am completely unable to stream without dropping frames like a madman and watching streams? Well... lol at that. I have had to start using third party tools just to watch streams without Twitch stuttering on me.

Again, Twitch... there really isn't anything you can do except send them an email informing them of the unusability of Twitch in Europe. The freeze is kind of the be expected, OBS simply continues to try and send the remainder of the buffer and that process takes a bit of time to either complete or time-out. Nothing to be worried about too much.
