hello, i am relitavely new to obs, as i only downloaded last week. i am trying to record minecraft videos on my laptop, and the game play is fine, but when i go to watch the video back, it is VERY laggy with both audio and video. does anyone have any suggestions of what i should do? i don`t really understand technical terms so if you could tell me step by step that would be great. :) if not i can look them up. thx so much

I experienced the exact same thing when I started out, and I recently fixed it after weeks of trying! Keep the encoder the same. Make sure you turn on “Advanced Settings” at the top of the “Output” tab in settings. Once advanced is on, click on the tab that says “Recording”. Set the bitrate to 4000 kbps if recording in 720p at 60fps. Set the bitrate to 12000 kbps if recording in 1080p in 60fps. If recording in 30fps, set the bitrate to half of what I said. Set the file format to “mkv”. Make sure the first setting in the second box of the “Recording” tab in “Output” is set to “CBR” (constant bitrate). Set “Key Frame Interval” to 2. That should be it. If the lag continues, please reply to this. I’ll try and post a screenshot of my settings ASAP. Hope this helped!
