Question / Help FPS Problems

I like to stream to Twitch, and I want to start posting to YouTube, but I have one problem. Every time I tab out of OBS into a program, it drops the FPS to below 20 instead of 60. I have tried everything. I even downloaded OBS Studio, set it up, and I still had the same problems. The same happened when I tried to begin recording today. If anybody could help then that would be great.

What encoder are you actually trying to use? The Log shows that you tried x264 and NVENC.

x264 your CPU is by far not capable of handling 1080p60 especially on Veryfast Preset even 1080p30 on ultrafast tends to perform horribly on the i5 2500.

For your CPU (If using x264) the Limit will most likely be 720p30 on Veryfast Preset.

If you are trying to use NVENC its pretty much the same Problem though here you might get away with 720p60 and Low Latency High Profile but other than that your VRAM on that GPU is way too slow.

Those Settings are extemely hard in CPU intensive Games like CSGO!

The problem is that I tab out of OBS and then the problems with the FPS happen. I have been trying all kinds of different settings. I used to just be able to stream games like Overwatch at the same settings that I have now, at 900p60 (because that was the size of my monitors then) I upgraded to two monitors, and that is when the problems started to happen. I thought it was the second monitor, so I unplugged it, and the problems still happened. Recently I upgraded again to two 1920x1080 monitors, and the problems are still happening. In this timespan between about 6 months ago when Overwatch came out, and now, I have not upgraded my PC.

Sounds interesting right now I would blame the Windows Anniversary Update for it since it was working before. Maybe check on the Topic Windows Xbox DVR

Ok, thanks for the info, I didn't think about the Anniversary update. I do have Xbox DVR recently off because I just bought CS:GO, and it told me that it should be turned off for better performance. (I did stream after Xbox DVR was off, so that doesn't really fix it either.)
