Question / Help FPS Problems while recording

Hi

i have an issue and i dont know why it happens. I want to use OBS to record my Games.

when iam recording f.e. League of Legends, after 19 minutes my FPS drops down to 30-40 FPS from 60 FPS.
It starts to stutter a bit and in the recorded file there are many freezed images.

in CS:GO it starts after 10 minutes and very extreme.

My System:
Windows 7 64 Bit
4 DDR RAM
Intel Core i5 2.8 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 5750
256 GB SSD

Settings in OBS:

encryption: 3000 kbits
relolution downscale from 2560x1440 to 1706x960
FPS: 25


Can anyone explain me why this happens ?

Are you sure your CPU or GPU isn't overheating? For problems to only start after some amount of time, this sounds like a possibility.

when i stop the recording and start it instantly again the lags are gone for another 19 minutes.
so if the problem were overheating it should still lagging, am i right ?

It could be a temperature issue indeed but I'm actually inclined to think it's something else. Specifically, I'm inclined to think it's a memory leak of sorts somewhere. Given the fact a restart of the stream seems to solve the issue.
