Question / Help FPS/Ping Issues

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the whole streaming thing. Got all the little stuff taken care of, as far setting up the stream, finding the right third party software, HUD setups, etc. But every time I go to stream, I seem to have in-game fps and ping issues for LoL. If anyone could give me a hand, it'd be much appreciated. Here's my most current log:

EDIT: Changed my bitrate to 1200 & my fps down to 30 to see if it would make a difference. Nothing noticeable though. I fear it may just be my 15mbps internet connection just needs to be upgraded. Help still appreciated.

Moved to Questions and Help, since this isn't a bug.

And yikes, you have quite a few problems with your log.

1) Don't use Monitor capture with Aero enabled on Windows 7. Not only is Monitor capture the slowest capture method, but Monitor capture with Aero enabled makes it way, way slower. The fastest capture methods are Window capture with Aero enabled, or Game capture. Window capture will only work on windows and games that run in Windowed mode, while Game capture will work on almost all games in any form.

The best way to stream LoL is to set up 2 scenes. First, keep Aero enabled. Then, in the first scene, have a Window Capture of the LoL client, and in the second scene, have a Game Capture of the actual LoL game (or Window capture if the game is in Windowed or Borderless mode). Then use the Simple Scene Switcher to automatically swap between them: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1785 Avoid Monitor capture altogether.

2) Don't stream at 1080p60. Not only is your hardware not capable of streaming at that high of settings, but 1080p60 streaming is extremely difficult on viewer's ends, too. Flash is a huge resource hog while trying to decode 1080p60 video, and even moderately-powered computers struggle with it.

3) Your GPU is a pretty big bottleneck here. The nVidia *10 GPUs (610, 510, 410, etc.) are known for being very low-level and pretty weak. You might run into some issues with it later on once you bring your settings to sane levels.

Try streaming at 480p30 (which is 1080p downscaled by 2.25x) and see how that goes, after fixing your sources so that you aren't using Momitor capture anymore, and see how that goes.

Well, let's back up. Why do you want to show your whole monitor? It's possible, but will cost you some performance.

That's just what I see most streamers do, plus I use a cropped monitor capture of my rainmeter "Now Playing" to show my music.

If you absolutely must, then you can use Monitor capture with Aero disabled. But again, it is the worst capture method. It's better than Monitor capture with Aero enabled, but if you can get away with not using it, it will help you a lot. Just because other streamers do it doesn't mean you have to. Other streamers, even the popular ones (sometimes especially the popular ones) don't always know what they are doing when it comes to streaming.

Well I created 2 scenes, stuck with Monitor capture for one of the scenes, but installed the SceneSwitcher plugin and it works successfully. Still getting high ping issues though. I still think it's my internet connection considering I get an upload rate of only a little more than 1 mbps. Here's my new log:

If you're getting high ping, that means your stream and the game are competing too much for your internet connection. First try enabling "Minimize Network Impact" in Broadcast Settings, and if that still doesn't help, try lowering the bit rate that you are streaming at.

Also, in those logs, you still aren't downscaling, and you still have Aero enabled. You're trying to run 1080p, but your hardware can't do it. You're going to need to downscale in your Video settings to at least 480p, and you're going to need to disable Aero if you insist on using Monitor capture.

Alright, had it disable Aero, and changed the Video setting to a base resolution of 640x480. Only problem now is that the stream only shows the top left of my monitor and league client.

No, don't change the base resolution. Keep the base resolution at 1920x1080. The use the Resolution Downscale feature to downscale by 2.25x to 852x480. That should fix it.
