Trying to record games, and it's been really frustrating trying to get good quality. Almost any game I play looks fantastic and smooth when the graphics are maxed out. Some games like WoW or LoL, the 'lower quality' games get up to 300 FPS when maxed out, while games like Skyrim with full decked out HD mods still runs around 120-150. But if I try to record any of these games, it looks choppy and stutters, despite the FPS not going down. Currently I've been test recording for Diablo 3, since the ladder is resetting. On max graphics, no OBS, I can cap it at 60 or 120 FPS and have it be perfectly smooth. With OBS on, it says it's 60 fps, but seems really laggy. If I uncap the frames and go minimum graphics, it says it's running at 180+ FPS, but it still looks like it's choppy and running at 30 fps. Basically, I feel like the FPS counter is lying to me or my PC isn't showing the frames it's putting out.

I considered making a log, but it's happened on more than just OBS when recording things (Fraps, Bandicam), so I feel like the issue is PC related, not OBS related. Posting here because I feel like it's the best help community for my issue, and I'm currently using OBS and perhaps there are settings or plugins to fix this issue. Thanks :)
If you need any other logs / spec details feel free to ask. I really wanna fix this issue.
