Hello.

I am new to recording and I downloaded OBS, started to find some league of legends preset to record, it was running smoothly with no problems at all.

When I came to Overwatch, I started to record some gameplay and when I finish the framerates was too low, the video was lagging.

I was wondering if someone can give me a preset I can use to record the gameplay smoothly for Overwatch or any other game.

My Laptop specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3840QM CPU @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce GTX 680M
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Display Memory: 12166 MB
Dedicated Memory: 4025 MB
Shared Memory: 8140 MB

I was wondering to if the Laptop specs was the problem for the low FPS.

Thanks for helping guys.

Those settings in that guide (if you follow ALL of them) should work for recording any game.

Overwatch is a VERY different game from League though. League is medium-to-low motion and fairly slow paced movement, with primarily full-screen slides and small screen-region changes. Overwatch (and any first/third-person game) uses LOTS of full-screen changes, constantly, as the viewport is turned and the player moves through the world. Especially because it's a fast-paced shooter on top of that, leading to even MORE movement.

Being fair, the CPU is a mobile CPU, which tend to be significantly weaker than the desktop models. One of many, many reasons not to go for a 'gaming laptop'. It shouldn't hinder in the case of recording, though livestreaming might be questionable.
