Question / Help FPS drop only when playing Rocket League

Hey everyone, i have noticed issues while playing Rocket League with the last OBS version.

I used to stream the game at 60 fps with no problems at all, now only in the Rocket League scene i see my FPS counter on OBS dropping from 60 to 58, 54, or even 45 in the Rocket League both in main menu and while playing.

It only happens in that scene, while playing PUBG or Overwatch i have no issues at all. In the last streaming i even tried removing some browser sources cause i thought they could solve the problem, but i had no luck.

Here is the log of my last stream, any help is really appreciated :( https://gist.github.com/anonymous/86939d5e484441368b54a32c282c5092

Sorry for my english.

Things i already tried:

- clean install of GPU drivers with DDU in safe mode.
- Reinstalling OBS Studio 19.0.3.
- Creating a new Rocket League scene without overlays, browser source etc.

Nothing helped,
as soon as i'm in the Rocket league main menù and OBS is opened even without recording or streaming i see the stable 60 fps OBS counter dropping.

Usage of your gpu is 100% or close to it and obs has no resources to render your stream if you have vsync disabled in game. Enable it to prevent this
Here is a checklist to take care of this and few other potential issues

1. 60hz desktop refresh
Replace with 59,94 only for HDMI TV used as monitor.
If you have 144hz monitor its fastest and most reliable to forget about 144hz and follow 1,2,3,4
2. 60 or 30 in OBS (59,94 or 29,97 only for HDMI TV)
3. 60 in game if there is switch for it (like bf3, bf4, overwatch) - 59,94 only for HDMI TV
4. Enable vsync in game
5. Run obs as administrator
6. Enable high performance mode in windows power options
7. On Win10 disable game mode, game bar and game DVR https://i.imgur.com/7CVH7c5.png
8. Make sure your gpu can do stable 60fps in game without being maxed. OBS needs some of gpu resources as well. If you did points 1+4 and its still maxed lower resolution and/or details.
9. Install Afterburner (or pure RTSS+HW Info) to monitor cpu/gpu load and start experimenting with tuning resolution / fps / x264 preset. GPU/CPU load should not exceed 85-90% during game+streaming/recording session

Thank you for your reply! I have a 144hz monitor with Gsync, so i never never never use vsync in games. My fps in Rocket League are capped to 250 and i always do more than 150 in game while streaming. Everything about win10 and game mode or dvr is disabled. Performance mode is enabled and obs is running as administrator.

The thing is i never had any issue with my config, especially on Rocket League and then suddendly it started doing this crap. The log says i am maxing my GPU at 100%? I will try reducing the fps cap at 150 in game and see if this can do the job, but i think it's still weird that more demanding games like Overwatch or Playerunknown have no problems at all while Rocket League has fps drops :/

Hi, I am having a similar issue, but in my case the fps goes from average 185 fps with OBS not running, and down to 4-5 fps when obs is running... remember its JUST running NOT streaming...
And this is only the case for Rocket League (vsync is truned on, gamer bare etc disabled, obs runs in admin and all of the above)
