Question / Help FPS Drop only when in game (Heroes of the Storm)

Hello friends, I need assistance.

I play Heroes of the Storm in game capture. When I interact with the game, OBS drops to a much lower FPS. If I am tabbed out of the game but it still displays in OBS, it will still stream at 60 FPS. Only when I click into the game does it start stuttering. I am at my witts end. I can not figure this thing out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What FPS do you get when OBS isn't running? Have you enabled vsync or some other form of frame rate limiter to help manage system load?

I get 60+ FPS in game when obs is running and when it is not. The issues is the FPS of OBS drops when I'm in HOTS. If I tab out of HOTS you can still see the HOTS gameplay in OBS and it runs at 60 FPS. When I click into HOTS, then OBS preview and the stream drops to 5 FPS or lower.

When you tab out of HOTS it's probably throttling the frame rate or pausing rendering, which would reduce system load and allow OBS to start working again. Cap the FPS at 60 using vsync or a frame rate limiter. Post a log if the problem continues.
