Question / Help FPS continuous drop

Hello,

I have been streaming for a little more then 2 years now, always used OBS with nothing more then minor bumps here and there, nothing to complain about.

My old PC specs:
MSI Z97A Gaming 7, Socket-1150
i7 4790k 4.40GHz
MSI GTX 1080
2x8 DDR3 1600MHz

Had 60 FPS stable 99% of the time.

My new PC specs:
MSI X299 Tomahawk AC, Socket-2066
i7 7800x 3.5/4.0GHz
MSI GTX 1080
2x8 DDR4 3000MHz

Now, after upgrading my PC to the following components, i can barely reach 60 at any point. It's dropping up and down between 25-55 FPS. I just reinstalled Windows 10 64-bit, but im PRETTY sure i have the same settings in OBS now as before i reinstalled Windows and all programs on the new motherboard.

Can you assist? I'm pretty confused.

Thanks!

You need to put your video card in pci-e x16 slot 1. It's in the wrong slot.
That might become an issue... I have a Noctua CPU cooler, it's huge AF...I'm guessing I put in the slot it is now because it wouldnt fit in any other ones.

Tho, i dont know which slot is the pci-e x16 on this motherboard, so i'd have to look that up to see if it actually will become an issue.

I will look into that and get back to you with an update!

Thank you!

Its not in the PCI-e 1 slot, i cant simply fit it there, i have to rebuild my Noctua fan then and move one of the fans to the other side of the cooling ribs. MAYBE it will fit in slot 1 then. What do you think? Its ok now or do i need to put it in slot 1?

i get it now. my CPU is 28 lanes...ffs! thats why, so its x8, if you see the table for bandwith...Ok. Rebuilding CPU fan then.
