Hey all, hoping someone can troubleshoot this issue I'm having.
I cannot get OBS on my newer Macbook Pro (15-inch, 2019, macOS Mojave v10.14.6) to talk to OBS (meaning I don't get audio levels from my Scarlett 2i2), whereas my old Macbook Pro (15-inch, Late 2013, macOS Sierra v10.12.6) communicates just fine.
I've ruled out seemingly everything, and done my best to match every single seeting I can find.
All software (Focusrite drivers, OBS software), save for the macOS, is running the same version (24.0.6). I was running the latest (26.0.2) befor reverting to the same OBS software on my old Mac, but same problem. So the issue is not this.
I've gone into Audio Midi Setup on both Macs and chosen Scarlett 2i2 for input.
I add Audio Input Capture in OBS, select Scarlett 2i2 USB on both devices. Levels pop up right away in OBS on the older Mac, and I get nothing on the newer Mac. Oddly, when I go to Sound Preferences on either Mac, I see levels, which would indicate that audio is getting through to both and there is no faulty USB cable (the newer Macs use USB-C ports only, so I can't use the USB-C to USB-A cable that comes with the Scarlett on the new mac). I've tried three different C-C cables just to be sure, but again- I see levels in Sound Preferences so that wouldn't make much sense.
I've read that some people have had different troubles with macOS Catalina, but my newer Macbook Pro is not running that OS where they seemingly changed a bunch of things.
Any ideas? I'd much prefer to use my newer comp in the future, and was planning to sell my old one, but right now I'm sort of handcuffed to it.
Many thanks,
John
