⚠️ Important Note: Finals Week

I am currently in my university final exams week. Because of this, I might be slow to push code updates or hotfixes for the next few days.

However, please be assured of this:
I am reading every single comment. I am taking detailed notes of every bug report and suggestion you provide to work on them immediately after my exams end next week.

Please do not hold back your feedback. Good or bad, I want to hear it all to improve this plugin.

That is actually neat. I am using veadotube right now but only need it for a redeem so now i can just use this and have one less app running in the background.

Is it possible to get APNG support?

Hey therealdadbeard!

Thank you so much! That "one less app running in the background" part was exactly my main motivation for building this. I'm really glad it helps streamline your setup.

Regarding APNG support:
To be honest, I haven't experimented with APNG before, so I need to do some research on it first.

However, I have added it to my notes to investigate for the next update (v0.2.0). I will look into it as soon as my exams are over next week.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Sadly, doesnt support GIF
Hey Kib!

Thanks for giving it a try!

You are absolutely right. Currently (v0.1.0), only static PNGs are supported to keep the initial release as lightweight and bug-free as possible.

However, you can be sure that "Animated Image Support" (both GIF and APNG) is currently #1 on my to-do list, and I do not intend to wait long to release it.

If everything goes according to plan, I will likely add GIF support within the next 2 days!

I am really grateful for your testing and, most importantly, for your feedback.

Hello therealdadbeard, thank you again for the feedback.

I have implemented APNG support in the latest pre-release (v0.2.0-beta). It also includes support for GIF and WebP formats.

Since this is a pre-release build, please let me know if you encounter any issues with playback. You can download it from the "Updates" tab or directly from GitHub.

Hello Kib, thank you again for the feedback.

Based on your suggestion, I have just released v0.2.0-beta, which introduces native GIF support along with APNG and WebP.

Since this is a pre-release build, please let me know if you encounter any issues with playback. You can download it from the "Updates" tab or directly from GitHub.

Hey just trying out flood-tuber, very nice, I've been making do with audio image swap which although is effective with the right mouth animations, is limited for several reasons, obviously.
I actually have a version that switches to the same character with a yelly mouth at higher volumes , but it doesn't work that great as I've used advanced scene switcher to switch the two sources

Your plugin can easily achieve this far more easily with some small modifications
THose optional image slots are super useful for alternative mouth animations perhaps triggered by greater volumes.
A quieter threshold could trigger a barely moving muttering mouth, A higher volume could trigger an exaggerated yelly mouth animation.

Another thing you might like to try is modifier keys or buttons to switch the base drawings from neutral to happy or angry or sad.

Amazing work, I'm so glad you have made this and bravo adding the animated option so quickly.

Hello Chuzz! Thank you for the kind words; your feedback is truly invaluable to me.

Your suggestions are spot on—effectively bringing the features of standalone apps like Veadotube Mini directly into OBS!

1. "Yelly" Mouth / Volume Thresholds: This is a brilliant idea. Adding a secondary "High Volume" threshold to trigger a specific animation (like shouting/screaming) would make avatars much more dynamic without needing complex scene switchers. I've added this to my roadmap!

2. Hotkeys/States: Switching between emotions (Happy, Angry, Sad, etc.) via hotkeys was actually in my initial plan. However, I decided to keep it simple for the first release to ensure stability. Since I am a solo developer, testing complex features can be challenging, and as this is my first plugin, my priority was to release a bug-free foundation first. Rest assured, these features are definitely coming in future updates.

Thanks again for the great feedback and vision!

@justflood Yay! Awesome, this is very exciting... I'm going to start shifting my build over to your plugin.
Kudos to you.

One other thought ( or question) I will keep super vague for you to interpret widely as your imagination likes.
Can you use frequencies as triggers?

Maybe a stupid and potentially messy concept or standard , I don't know.

Wow Chuzz! You are literally shifting your build to my plugin? That is the biggest compliment I could receive!

About the "Frequencies" idea... I totally get what you mean! Using pitch (low bass vs. high treble) to trigger different states (like a scary face for deep voices or a surprised face for high-pitched screams) sounds incredible.

However, moving from "Volume Analysis" to "Frequency/Spectrum Analysis (FFT)" is a huge technical jump for me right now. Since I'm currently focusing on stability and basic features, I'll put this into the "Experimental/Long Term" list. But I love the way you think!

Thanks again for the amazing support!

Absolutely fantastic!

I'm new to "PNGTuber" and currently experimenting. I just finished my avatar and set everything up in Veadotube when I stumbled across your plugin. It's easy to set up and works flawlessly. It fulfills all my needs so far, and as described above, I think it's great to have "one less app running in the background".

Thanks for your work! (created an account here just to thank you :D)
I'm excited to see what's next!

Hello Rylez!

Thank you so much for this fantastic comment! Honestly, the fact that you created an account just to say thanks is one of the biggest motivators I've received for this project so far. I’m genuinely touched!

I'm really happy that you gave my plugin a shot right after setting up Veadotube, and that you share the vision of having "one less app running in the background".

If you encounter any bugs, find any settings that feel uncomfortable, or if you have any ideas for new features, please don't hesitate to share them. Feedback is exactly what I need right now to improve it further.

Thanks again for giving the plugin a try and for your support!
