Usage:
  1. Download the file named "infrared_flir_full_range.png" (~76KiB)
  2. Apply LUT effect filter to the any video Source you have in the OBS Studio.
  3. Point Path of the Apply LUT filter to the image "infrared_flir_full_range.png"

Fantastic stuff, been looking for LUTs to produce a game boy/pocket & color effect. Do you think a LUT would work or do e need to create a shader file to reduce the colors to 4 tones?

@SlightlyWilson it is depending on your skill.

If I understand it right then the simplest way for me is to use LUTs and two Scaling/Aspect Ratio: Point filters (one reduces, then next enlarges image) for the video source in OBS.

Example.
original image:
colored_pseudo_IR_image.jpg

the 4-colors posterize LUT:
example_posterize4colors_obslut.png

Result, Scaling/Aspect Ratio: Point (scale down to 96x76) + Apply LUT (posterize) + Scaling/Aspect Ratio: Point (scale up back to 320x256):
