Flickering Problems with OBS 31.1.2 (64 bit) and Asus G614P

Hello,
I purchased an Asus G641P laptop (8/20/2025). It includes the following
  • AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX with Radeon Graphics (2.40 GHz)
  • 32GB Ram
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU
  • AMD Radeon (TM) 610M
  • NVIDIA Control Panel Version 8.1.968.0
I reloaded Windows 11 Home, then I reloaded the NVIDIA drivers The PC behaves well aside from issues with OBS.
I have a Backmagic ATEM Mini Pro (ISO) connected to the Asus laptop on a UBS-C port. All the cables, cameras and Mini Pro worked fine on the prior PC, and they still do. I'm having trouble getting the configuration to work with the new Asus laptop.
I've used Video Capture Device as a Source.
OBS Studio starts up fine, but the minute I click on Start Recording or Start Streaming, the image starts flickering.
How do I configure OBS to work with the new hardware? Are there any adjustments that I need to make on the new laptop?
Many Thanks for looking at this.
Phil

Set OBS to run on your RTX

1. Run OBS as Admin
2. Set your FPS to 24 to match your input.
2. Record to MKV. If you record to MP4 or MOV and the recording is interrupted, the file will be corrupted and unrecoverable. If you require MP4 files for some other purpose like editing, remux them afterwards by selecting File > Remux Recordings in the main OBS Studio window.

Hello, I'm running Windows 11 Home Version 24H2. I don't see an option to select "Classic App" in Windows 11 Home.
Under Settings / Graphics Settings, the "NVIDIA Container" is listed. The GPU Preference is "Power Saving" and the "Optimized for Windows Games" button is set to off.
Also under Graphics Settings, is "OBS Studio" (C:\Program Files\OBS-Studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe). The GPU Preference is "Power Saving" and the "Optimized for Windows Games" button is set to off.
Under Advanced Graphics Settings the following options are selected:
Optimized for Windowed Games is set to off
Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is set to off
Variable Refresh Rate is set to off
I've run OBS as an Administrator.
I set the FPS (File / Settings / Video / Common FPS Values) to 24 NTSC
File / Settings / Output / Recording / Recording Format is set to Matroska Video (.MKV)
File / Settings / Output / Recording / Video-Encoder is set to Software (x264)
File / Settings / Output / Streaming / Video-Encoder is set to Software (x264)
File / Settings / Output / Streaming / Encoder Preset is set to very fast (default)(medium CPU usage, standard quality
File / Settings / Stream / Service is set to YouTube - RTPMS
File / Settings / Stream / Server is set to Primary YouTube ingest server
File / Settings / Stream / Advanced Options / Ignore streaming service setting recommendations is NOT checked.

When I'm in OBS, connected to the ATEM Mini Pro ISO, the image appears fine. However once I click "Start Recording" or "Start Streaming" the screen flickers and the image shifts a little bit. When I stop recording or streaming, the images becomes stable again.

The problem no longer exists. I returned the brand new Asus laptop and purchased a brand new HP Omen 016 (Intel). Everything works perfectly. Thanks for pointing out the logs and log analyzer.
