IMPORTANT EDIT: I changed the graphics mode in the game from Hardware Accelerated 3D to Software 3D and the flickering is gone entirely. I still don't think the game was entirely at fault as I never had to do this while recording the game previously. Still, while I'd like to know the cause, I consider this solved.
I recently changed a few settings to do a test stream on Twitch just out of curiosity and, in the moment, didn't have the foresight to make the changes in a separate profile. For several months before that, I'd been making LP-style videos of a game just for fun. Now I can't seem to get the quality I could before I changed the settings, primarily due to an intrusive black flicker. The game is from the 90's, so it's not resource intensive. I use monitor capture to record; the game won't show up in window capture and only shows up in game capture when I change the game's settings so much it becomes nearly unplayable (and still comes out poorly). I've not had much trouble with monitor capture in the past. I spent hours yesterday and today trying to figure out what I changed and I really believe I have it close enough to what it was before that it should be working. I tried OBS for Windows as well as MP. A different game I tried to record came out fine, but I really doubt the game is at fault as the black flickering only occurs in the recording and I tried both a disc-based and digital version of the game with the same result. That said, there is a minor grey flicker in-game,
Here is a video demonstrating the flicker:

I believe this log contains my past hour or so of attempts. If I've done anything wrong in this post, let me know. Thanks in advance for any help.

(made the post too long when I tried to post it as code here)
