hi, this is my first time wanting to stream and i hear people use OBS so i thought i'd give it a try. The problem is that after i downloaded the recent updated version of OBS is says only works on VISTA and up. I currently have window XP. Is there any version of OBS that i can use that works with window XP professional sp3?

No, OBS requires a modern OS for high performance.

There may be a future version someday that supports XP but it probably won't come for a while.

hm then i'll plan to update my OS to window 7. will work for it right?

Yes, it will work on Windows 7, assuming you have a compatible GPU and not an old integrated GPU.

Don't expect too much with your CPU, unfortunately. Realtime encoding is still an incredibly CPU intensive process. Even modern processors are taxed by it.
