Question / Help First time streaming - any advice on optimal settings?

Hey,

I've been wanting to stream for a while now however the one thing that was really limiting me were hardware and Internet speed.

Recently I have built a new computer which is easily capable of streaming and my Internet has improved...slightly.

As of right now, a speed test will show anything between 1.80Mbps and 2.06Mbps upload speed.

I would be streaming mainly console games (Xbox 360/Xbox One) and on the whole it would be FPS titles such as COD and some PC like Minecraft etc.

With that being said, and my experience in this being somewhat limited, I was curious to know if I would be able to stream in any sort of high quality. I'm not looking at 1080p etc but a good balance between resolution and performance.

Furthermore, are there any settings through OBS which could help. Slower CPU Preset, Minimized Network Impact?

Really hoping you guys could help provide some insight, I'm somewhat out of my depth with these things.

I've detailed all my specs below, thanks in advance.

Consoles: Xbox 360 / Xbox One

Games to be played: Varied / Mainly FPS (COD etc)

Recommendations:

Stream at 1500Kbps.

1080p, downscale to 540p at 30fps. If looks bad, try 480p.

For Preset, when streaming console, try fast. When streaming PC game(Minecraft), do faster.

No need for minimize network impact unless experiencing frame drops or high ping.
