Question / Help Filtering Source-scenes

Imagine two scenes, Scene A and Scene B.

Scene A consists of only one source: your webcam. Default settings plain and simple.
Scene B has only one source, too: Scene A added as a 'Scene' under sources. (I suggest you come up with a better name for this particular source. Naming a source 'Scene' is confusing.) For clarification purposes I'll call that source a Source-scene.

So why would you ever do such a thing? Because I was under the impression that you now can add filters to the Source-scene without changing the original webcam input. That way you can have multiple instances of your original webcam picture in different scenes all filtered differently. That was the hope.

Imagine my surprise now when I realized Scene A gets filtered exactly the same like the Source-scene in Scene B. The filters simply carry over! The source in Scene A is still your original webcam picture but the Scene itself gets filtered just like the Source-scene. I hope I can make myself clear here a lot of different entities are named the same.

So my question is can you still have a scene with just your webcam and add that scene to other scenes filtering it differently each time without changing the original webcam scene?

Don't apply the filter to the source.
Apply it to individual scenes.
Have separate scenes for each different filter set.

Yep, thats how I do it. I have a number of Source-Scenes with different added effects, especially ones that have Sources that you cannot physically add multiple times (like a webcam or HDMI capture card, only 1 "origin" source can be created). Same with some browser sources that I use.

The only thing I wish we had was a way to sort Scenes into collapsible groups, that way I could put all of these Source-Scenes into a folder, close the folder, and have my Scenes list a little better organized.

Collapsible Scene-groups sound like a winner to me, machar! =) Thank you for the explanation, guys, I think I got it now.

@Geordy

if you go to this archive of mine, and advance to 16m 49s...

You will see an example of me using Scene-Sources. This archive is actually me testing out a dropped frame issue I was having at the time, but the specific scene I am on shows the Scene-Sources.

My HDMI capture card in this scene has a Blur filter applied to it, quite a heavy blur, as well as an Opacity filter. It may not be the most secure, since the blur can be reversed, but I dont really do anything "secret" on it, i just like having a scene that shows something going on, but not 100% clear. The HDMI capture is in a scene of its own (a Source-Scene). Also, if you look in the background behind everything, you may notice a scrolling green, white and blue, blurry visual effect. That is a Scene-Source containing the R&D logo (which is also, clear, in that specific scene). There is a heavy blur applied to it, as well as a Scroll filter. Really adds some nice effects.
