When I record videos o.b.s saves the file type as .flv however when I go on to Windows Movie Maker, it comes up with nothing because Windows Movie Maker doesn't support it.

Is their a way that I can change the file type I looked in settings but couldn't find it. Please help.

Hi Saul,

Yes, you can change the file type, however, if you change the file type to MP4, if OBS or your stream or computer or anything ever crashes, the file will corrupt. FLV does not have this issue.

To play back FLV files(And a superior video player overall), download VLC.
