Question / Help File path issue - fixed *Now having black screen issue*

I'm not going to be doing any streaming yet, so this has nothing to do with that. I'm just wanting to do some video to save to my harddrive for editing later. This program was recommended to me by a friend. So I decided to give it a go.

It was told that I could use it for non streaming video capture. IT looks that way through the settings. However, when I go into my directory to find a file path to save video to, it will not accept any path I choose. As a result, I can not record any video.

Is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong?

Are you giving the file a name, too? You will need to give the full path + file name that it will be saved as.

Yeah. finally figured that out.

A bit backwards, but okay.

Now that I have that figured out, I am having the issue of just getting a black screen when taking videos or previewing a stream.

You need to actually add something to your scene. Read one of the setup / quick start guides in the guide forum.

Some times when you stream a video you need to change the settings.May need to do a few things.
Below I will list a few things that may help you.

1.)Right click on scenes
2.)Click Create screne
3.)Next,Right click Sources,Then a drop down menu will appear,Giving you the options to.
(Window capture,Monitor,Image,Image slideshow,Text,Video capture device which is like a webcam or something,Next is,Video capture device,Then Game capture).
4.)Note:Some of the options above will ask you to name it,Just put the game name or what ever it is your doing.

What I did was i just clicked the box,Then clicked browse and chose this file
C:\Users\User\Videos\League streams.mp4.Yours may look a little different but it should work.Now if the video does not play through Windows media player,Download AVS video converter,go into the software,Choose wmv. and browse for your video.And that should work xD

Besides, you "browse" that gives you a full file name...But it wont save? So what you are saying doesn't not correct the problem.

I select file and the save is always greyed out.

This software just doesnst work yet, needs more work.

The software does work, you're simply doing something wrong.

Click the "Browse..." button next to the "File path:" text box. Then navigate to the folder you want to save your local recordings in, select either MP4 or FLV from the "Save as type:" menu in the file dialog (MP4 is selected by default), and then type in a filename, such as localrecording.mp4 (or localrecording.flv), then click save.

As for the black screen issue, you would have to post a log, and if you do that, you should make a new thread. This thread is very old and there was no need to bump it.
