I've made a few recordings (transferring Hi8 tapes from a camcorder to my laptop) just now whilst experimenting with this brilliant software yet have been unable to locate them in the location/path I set up. I initially chose to record in MP4 then discovered advice recommending to use the default MKV format which I did, also selecting the auto remux to MP4.
Clearly I have an incorrect setting or a hardware issue.

Thanks for the prompt response. There are no recordings shown but I have now realised the issue lies with the error message attached and don't know how to resolve this.

16:17:03.755: [qsv encoder: 'simple_video_recording'] qsv failed to load
Your CPU (code name "Sandy Bridge") is too old for the selected encoder. Either choose other encoder in OBS Settings > Output or try older version of OBS (v29.1.3). See for details:

Thank you for your response. I have been able to resolve the issue by choosing 'software' over the 'hardware' option.
