Fightcade2 IGPU Gameplay + RTX 4060 AV1 Recording Black Screen Issue

I’m trying to set up my recording in a specific way:

  • I want to run Fightcade2 fbneo, flycast etc emulator game reply using my iGPU, with the display output going through the motherboard.
  • At the same time, I want to record that game reply in 4K AV1 using my RTX 4060 in OBS.

The problem is: when I do this, the game capture shows a black screen in OBS, so I can’t record the game reply at all.

My question is: how can I solve this issue so that I can use iGPU for game reply and RTX 4060 for recording simultaneously?

I want this because rtx4060 driver support for Dx9al is not that good, the reply crush.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

You are playing in different GPU.
OBS and the game must run on the same GPU to work properly.

Otherwise, you should use Window Capture source (not Game Capture) with Windows 10 1903 capture mode (not automatic).
But you will have a performance hit for doing that. Maybe negiglible.

Thanks for your answer my friend,
Additionally please let me know if i have 2 gpu like gtx 750ti and rtx4060 as 2d retro game doesn't need gpu like rtx 4060 therefore 750ti for game reply rendering and rtx 4060 with obs to record high resulation 4k. is it possible without any lag or performance drop..

You can always get a capture device with passthrough or hdmi duplicator if it doesn't have passthrough, capture the output from iGPU or 750 and have OBS running on 4060 capturing that input.

Like qhobbes said: you can use an HDMI capture card to capture the game. It will work without performance hit.

You should try to solve the crash issue of your emulators while running the games on your rtx 4060 instead of trying to make OBS run in a weird setup it isn't meant to run with.

I bet there are already reports for these emulators in connection with the rtx 40xx cards and how to fix this, probably some emulator setting. If there are none, it's some local issue just on your PC and you should try to fix this, for example by doing a fresh and clean reinstall of the newest Nvidia driver. The Nvidia driver is generally known to have very good compatibility to old games, so it's probably not some general driver issue.
