Hey everybody,

I am looking to understand few terms and what would be the better option for me. So:

CBR or VBR? Which one is better for 1500 bitrate?
Custom buffer size or not? Which one is better for 1500 bitrate?
And lastly, downscale filter options? Higher or not? (is lanczos still bugged?)

I got fx 8320 and r9 280x + 5mbit upload (but can't go higher than 1400-1500 bitrate, probably ISP issues unfortunately because I tried everything)
Ok, that's it :)

Thanks!

CBR for streaming, leave custom buffer size alone, lanczos isn't bugged any more but OBS Classic has been dead for quite a while. Move to Studio.

Thanks for answering in such a short notice.

Yea but there should be a reason why VBR is there, only for recording?
I saw few people using custom buffer size so wanted to know benefits if there is.
And yea I am using OBS Studio :)

OBS has lots of options, not all of them are appropriate for every situation. Custom buffer size is primarily used in conjunction with the CRF rate control method to remove its bitrate limitations. Just stick to the local recording presets and it will configure the correct settings for you.
