Like the title says every time I try and play a video I've recorded it gives me an error failed to find locale/en-us.ini
I've tried several help videos on youtube and can't find a solution Im on windows 10 any help would be great.
If the error you see is part of the OBS Studio then find obs64.exe and make new shortcut (send it to desktop). Then you'll be able to run application from this new shortcut on your desktop. If the error is from your video player then you can try VLC Player to playback your videos.
Well I've had a similar problem, it says "This app can't be run on your PC, check with your developer. That happens when I try to look at my recordings.
@Lauren342 The mentioned sequence of actions should bring up the file explorer window, that will show to you the list of your recent recordings. If the error occurs at this moment, then you have installed custom file explorer - remove or update it. If you don't have custom file explorer installed and just using build in Windows solution then maybe you have automatic thumbnail creation (media previews) enabled in your system and have some software installed that handles this process instead of Windows - in this case you should remove or update this additional software.
BUT, I think, that after you click the mentioned menu option of OBS Studio - you see the new window with media file and clicking to it trying to playback and only then the error rises. In this case - just install software that can playback your videos (for example VLC Player) and allow to it to playback videos by default. Also, you may right-click over the file and choose the program (open with media player, like VLC, if it installed on your system) manually to be able to playback the videos.
I still don't understand why we get this message and can't open videos from within OBS to edit them. I haven't installed anything to create thumbnails or anything special, and I don't know how to remove it.
If you mistakenly opened video (.mkv, .mp4 etc) with OBS and made OBS default program to open these kind of files instead of your media player then look online how to "Open With" (right-click menu option to choose other program in Windows File Explorer to open/view/edit files) and set new default program to open your media files.
