Question / Help Failed to create aac streaming encoder (simple output)

Hi,

I've been trying to get my OBS Studio to link up with Google Hangouts. I've downloaded (what seems to be a trusted) virtual cam but Google Hangouts didn't recognise OBS.

During this time I had OBS open with no problems.

I thoughts I'd restart my laptop, but after restarting I'm now getting the error "Failed to create aac streaming encoder (simple output)" every time I try to open OBS. I'm not overly technical, but I've tried opening it via cmd and that didn't work.

I'm unable to get a log file as I can't open OBS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. (This is all in Windows 10)

That error makes it sound like OBS is trying to start streaming when it opens. Are you using command line arguments to do that?
