Fade to Color takes audio playback with it

Hi All,

I'm unsure how to post a log as it's not a software error so please forgive me. I'm using continual audio playback that plays through all transitions. I've just started using Fade to Color and have found that, unlike the other built in transitions, it fades the audio out and then brings it back up.

Does anyone know how to make it stop doing that?

Cheers all!

I had the same problem; this is the only post I know of about it. I don't really use it as a fade to color; I just like the way it fades the picture to black and then brings it back in the next scene.

I solved it by making a Stinger transition which fades from green to black and back to green. I then use chroma key to turn the green transparent.

I guess I can't edit or delete my post. Update: Stingers can't use chroma key, so I had to make it in Quicktime 32 bit color, which allows for an alpha transparency channel. Then I used ffmpeg to convert the Quicktime file to a much smaller WebM file, just for convenience and bandwidth. But it works great! I even added some subtle effects because once I got that far...

I can replicate this dip to silence behaviour with an Audio Output Capture source in both scenes, not with Global Audio Devices. A fade to color probably is defined as a fade from Scene A to Color and a subsequent fade from Color to Scene B, as shown at this diagram at the Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio website. Obviously the Audio Output Capture source is in both scene A and B but not in Color. The difference at this point with the ATEM's behaviour is that OBS Studio not only transitions the video part but the complete scenes including audio. That would lead to the conclusion that it works as designed... but there might be a design flaw.

I don't know about formal specifications, this is just a common sense reaction (at least I believe it is LOL). So maybe someone with more knowledged at this topic can confirm... You might post something at ideas.obsproject.com But then the use case should be taken into consideration that the described behaviour actually is expected by somebody.

Below my post of Feb. 8th there are Report, Edit, Delete options... But if you do not have these, I've got no other help unfortunately.

How strange, I believe I have them when I first post, but when I come back (like right now), they are gone. I'm using Chrome fwiw.
