Fade function with single camera

Is it possible to use the fade to black or color function when changing from one preset position to a second preset position on the same camera? We are live streaming a service and would like to avoid the video showing the camera moving from one preset to another. The hope is that the fade function can be utilized so that the fade in and out will occur while the camera is moving.

I do that all the time...just need to create a separate scene for the black screen (or anything else you want to show while changing camera position).

When it's time to make your camera swing, switch to the black screen scene...make your position switch...then switch back to your main camera scene.

If I have to fade between two camera presets, I use a "stinger" transition. It is an animated graphic for a couple of seconds that hide the camera movement. You can use a black animation if you want.

Thank you for your replies. I know that this is probably simple/basic stuff but I'm not a tech person by any stretch of the imagination. So, this is very helpful. Can you set it up so the transition using the black screen is automatic when you switch camera presets or do you have to do it manually each time?

Check the resources section, there is probably a plugin or script that will handle certain types of transitions.
