Question / Help ExtremeCap U3 and 1080p

Hi - Just started using obs. switched because my sub to xsplit is about to expire AND i've heard great things about obs from friends that stream. however I'm having the same issue with obs as I do with xsplit with the extremecap u3. upon raising the res to 1080p, the video in the preview pan is very choppy. Works just fine in 720p. I don't intend to stream at this resolution, but because I can run this resolution with Avermedia's reccentral software, I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue with this particular capture card, and the indicated resolution? Thank you for obs, and the help.

1080p requires a lot of bandwidth. Especially at 60fps if that's what you're doing, so it's not entirely surprising. Depends on your computer.

I didn't figure the preview pane would be dependent on bandwidth? My hardware is enthusiast build, so that shouldn't be an issue. However the preview pane runs fine with avermedia's bundled software, just not with obs or xsplit. I hate a mystery :P. Thanks for the reply mate.

Why don't you have 12 total cores on that CPU? Do you have hyperthreading turned off? If so, turn that back on.

Yes, I have hyperthreading disabled. I'll try turning it back on, and reset the preset to its default. Thank you for the reply.

What was the outcome here? I'm having the exact same problem. I get no video in 1080p at all with this card. All other resolutions work fine however.

MasterSystemTV - what are you capturing with your device? These devices don't usually support upscaling, so if you're capturing something like an xbox 360 that's might be playing at 1280x720 and trying to set the device to 1080p, then I'm pretty sure it won't work. You have to set it to 720p in that case (at least I think; don't quote me on this, I could in fact be wrong)
