Question / Help Extreme spiky latency/ping (ms) since recently.

Basically my issue started a couple of weeks ago, back when Twitch.tv started telling streamers to optimize their stream by using CBR (Constant Bit Rate) and Keyframe Interval = 2, my ms spikes from 60-120.

I already tried to add this fix but to no avail: http://obsproject.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 734bbed6e2

Here's a link to my connection speed: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2915121438

What I'm asking for is just if there is any tweaks or things I can to do optimize my stream, I have a hard time believing that streaming at 700-900 bit-rate on a 1.6mbit connection isn't enough (I've been able to stream at higher bitrates in the past just fine, using Xsplit)

Pls halp :^(

Sidenote: I am able to stream semi-fine without the usage of CBR and Keyframe=0, still spikes from 60-90 ms but far less than when using those settings.

If you are streaming to Twitch, you will need to keep Keyframe Interval at 2.

Have you tried enabling the "minimize network impact" setting under Broadcast settings?

Are you kidding me, without the use of CBR my ms is steady: 58

With the use of CBR my ms is steady: 64

Thanks a lot man! - Just don't understand why having CBR enabled nets a higher ms than having it disabled, got any idea why is it so?

Because CBR is using an more "stable" bandwith then VBR.

VBR is only using the bandwith that you need (so less bandwith being used on less demanding stuff).
CBR is using ALL the bandwith.

If you get a fast moving scence then you should get the same ping with VBR.
