Question / Help Extreme lag when playing back pc game recordings w/webcam

Hello all,
first let me say I am new to using OBS and have been having a hard time trying to figure out how to use it exactly. I have been trying to record game play on both pc and ps4 w/elgato capture card, and have had no luck with either. Before I start to record, my webcam reacts late, but once I start recording the gameplay in obs with the webcam on, it completely lags and it looks as if I'm a robot when i play the recording back. Not sure what to do, I've gone on youtube for weeks now trying to tweak my settings here and there with no results. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it! Set your base resolution to 1280x720 instead of 1920x1080 with scaling and retest. You may need to set lower.
