Question / Help Extreme audio de-sync when streaming

Hey guys.

First off, log: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/f9a21b8a52de3dc18d4f999c826fee9a

Not sure if anyone can help me, but I'm getting bad audio de-sync when streaming a game with OBS. I'm talking like 1 second de-sync within a couple of minutes of starting the stream, going to 5/10 seconds plus after the stream has been running for 25 minutes and continuing to get worse.

I do not think its hardware related - all drivers are up to date, and when I try streaming using GeForce's built in platform (sending to Twitch) the audio matches up just fine, so surely its something in OBS?

My mic audio is always in sync with my webcam - never a problem with that. All other sounds (such as in game sounds and friends on discord) just start to lag further and further behind.

Only have around 5 videos on my twitch channel, so if you would like to see for yourself, its www.twitch.tv/r0b_j - the latest video in there was using GeForce, the couple before using OBS.

I'm a complete newb to streaming, but its something I would really like to get into, so would appreciate any help from anyone here as it is driving me crazy.

I don't see anything that jumps out in your log, outside you trying to game capture firefox near the end of your stream.

Try going to the properties of your audio device that's desyncing in OBS, click the Gear icon -> properties, and uncheck "Use device timestamps" to see if that helps. That kind of drift is only really able to be caused by faulty hardware. OBS has audio sync accurate to the nanosecond, so if it's drifting, the device is sending bad data.

Just a follow up, but unchecking timestamps seems to have fixed it for me. I was before also getting a bit of freezing/stuttering (but no dropped frames) and that seems to have gone as well since changing this one option, strangely.

Cheers for your help Fenrir, was causing me a massive headache :)
